Pistachio Sugar Pie Recipe

Ingredients

2 pie crust shells - pre-baked until just golden

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 tsp salt

3 Tbsp butter

1/2 cup whipping cream

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup hulled pistachios

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients EXCEPT the pistachios (and pie shells of course)

Stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and divide between the 2 pie shells.

Top with pistachios (whole or rough chop - it's up to you)

Bake for 15-20 minutes - until sugar mixture is bubbly. Let cool completely before slicing.

Serve with lightly sweetened whipped cream.

Just curious - are the pie shells blind baked? Doesn't seem like 15 minutes would be enough to bake them?
