Ingredients
- 3 c flour (spooned and leveled)
- 1 tsp coarse salt
- 1 c unsalted butter,room temperature
- 1 c sugar
- 1-1/2 c pure maple syrup
- 2 large egg yolks
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350,with racks in upper and lower thirds. In medium bowl,whisk together flour and salt, In large bowl,using electric mixer,beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in 1/2 c maple syrup and egg yolks. With mixer on low,beat in flour mixture.
- Drop batter by tablespoonfuls,3" apart onto 2 baking sheets
- Using flat-bottomed glass dipped in flour,flatten cookies to 1/4" thickness. Bake till golden on edges,12 to 15 mins.,rotating sheets halfway through. Transfer cookies to wire rack to cool. In a small saucepan,simmer 1 c maple syrup until reduced to 3/4 c. Spoon over cookies. Sprinkle cookies with coarse salt after glazing to enhance the maple flavor.
