- 1 Tbsp olive oil shopping list
- 1/2 lb pork stew meat shopping list
- 2/3 lb sauerkraut (white wine sauerkraut is really nice here) shopping list
- 2 medium sized onions, chopped shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, sliced shopping list
- 2 Tbsp tomato paste shopping list
- 1.5 cups chicken broth shopping list
- 1/8 tsp caraway seeds shopping list
- 1/2 Tbsp sweet paprika shopping list
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1/2 cup sour cream shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
How to make it
- In a medium sized pot, heat the oil.
- Add the pork and brown on all sides. Remove from pan.
- Add the onions and garlic and saute until tender.
- Add the caraway seeds, paprika, cayenne, salt and pepper. Cook for about a minute. Then add the tomato paste.
- Return the pork and any juices to the pot and stir thoroughly.
- Put the sauerkraut on top and add the chicken broth.
- Bring to the boil, cover and simmer over low heat for 1 hour until meat is tender. Stirring occasionally.
- After one hour remove the top raise heat to medium and let simmer another 5 minute to reduce the sauce.
- Turn off the heat and add the sour cream. Mix thoroughly and serve.
