Ingredients

How to make it

  • Prepare cake according to package directions and allow to cool completely.
  • Poke the top with a fork
  • Prepare jello per package directions
  • Pour the jello slowly over the cake, allowing it to absorb into the cake. If you pour to fast all the jello will end up on the bottom of the pan instead of in the cake.
  • Chill the cake for at least an hour, but more is better -- to set the jello
  • When the cake is set, frost with de-frosted cool whip and serve.

Thanks! A friend of mine is a huge fan of the broadway play Wicked and she asked for a green cake. I had no idea how I was going to do this except with a big bottle of green food coloring until I saw this recipe.

I made it for a youth group Valentine's event. Although I was sick and couldn't taste it, everyone else said it was good!

I have this recipe too! Great minds think alike. Everyone in my family loves it. And I like what "thepiggs" suggested, trying choc/cherry. YUM!

You know, I can just imagine this would be good with a good chocolate cake and cherry jello!
Those flavors go together quite well.

I always make it for my birthday, which was last week. I ususaly do it with strawberry and whatever that blue flavor is...it's very patriotic. I didn't know it tasted good with SF jello--we'll have to try it sometime. Glad you guys like it. :)
