An old fashioned main dish beef casserole. And with beer as a base to break down the beef. My wife's mother passed this one to us years ago. Sweet, spicy, warm, toasty..!

Well Suzy, it is my mother in laws recipe so no warranties implied or explicit. LOL. Try at your own risk, but it does sound good. I need to polish up the directions a little.
See there, a whole paragraph without being a smart azz... I am getting better, LOL.

Do you use Guiness beer? (And then finish the leftovers ;) I'm wondering if you think this is possible as a crockpot recipe? I know brisket comes out really moist in a crockpot, but the liquids may need to be reduced? Let me know what you think because my family would love this, but I don't have the time to "tend to it" for 4 hours.

Jaie, well it probably would make a good crockpot recipe. Never got that far in the thought process. I'll let you try it.. LOL. I usually have used either Sam Adam Black Lager or Michelob Amber Bock. But that is just my habit, I drink the remainder of the six pack... LOL. Guiness would be a worthy (maybe superior) alternative.

Fabulous Doug - I was just mentioning here at home there were a few bottles of beer in the fridge that are perfect for making stew.
