Ingredients

How to make it

  • bring water and salt to a boil stir in grits cook till done-follow pkg. directions
  • remove from heat
  • add bacon and 1 tbs. butter stir till butter melts
  • pour grits into a greased 81/2-x 41/2-x3 inch loaf pan
  • cool refrigerate and cover overnite
  • remove grits from pan cut loaf into slices
  • melt remaining 1/4 cup butter in large killet fry slices over medium heat 5-7 minues or till lightly brown turn once
  • yeilds 8 servings

    Ah...grits. The quintessential southern staple! I love grits, but have never tried them fried. I've gotta try this!
