This dish is one that I had created in the spur of the moment. It is very good and is soooo delish....best served with dumplings or small toasted egg noodles. Enjoy this is another recipe that I do not measure stuff. Read more ..just eyeball it. See less

Ingredients

6-8 chicken thighs ( skinned and de-fatted ) shopping list
1 1/2 large onion ( sliced and then quartered ) shopping list
canola oil shopping list
paprika sweet shopping list
vegeta shopping list
salt shopping list
garlic powder shopping list
1 package fresh mushrooms ( washed and quartered ) shopping list
sour cream shopping list

How to make it

wash chicken and take off skin and fat
in a cooking pot add some oil and add onions to brown slightly.
take off heat and add paprika...I use about 2 tablespoons.
stir well and put back on medium heat and add chicken thighs.
brown a bit and then add enough water to just cover chicken pieces.
turn heat to low and let simmer for about 1 1/2 hrs. stirring frequently.
add mushrooms 1/2 hour before done and let simmer til done.
you can add sourcream to individual plates and stir.
serve with dumplings or small toasted egg noodles and a side of my cucumber salad.

Vegeta... My best friends wifes favorite spice. She's from Poland and I swear they use it in their vodka too!

I went on a search to see if there were any recipes for making Vegeta and came across this entry in Wikepedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegeta_%28food%29. Based on the ingredient list, I'd guess lots of flavor but not hot.

I know you all are wondering what vegeta is...its a spice that us hungarians always have in our kitchen....so here is the website where you can order it....also I am making this dish as I type and will post the photo when done...enjoy.
