How to make it

  • Cook the lentils in the broth with the turmeric and salt for 30 minutes.
  • Add the spinach and cook until the spinach has wilted and mixed with the lentils, about another 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile,brown the onions in the olive oil and then add the garlic, ginger, tomatoes, chili paste, cumin seeds, coriander, garam masala and the cayenne pepper and stir for 2 minutes.
  • Add this onion mixture to the Dal and the spinach. Stir and heat through. Yum!
