How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Combine the cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella and basil in a bowl and set aside.
  • Cook pasta until al dente, rinse with cold water and set aside.
  • Heat the oil in the same pot over medium heat.
  • Add the onion and cook stirring occasionally, until translucent.
  • Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds more.
  • Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, rosemary, thyme and salt and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until sauce thickens slightly.
  • Remove from heat and add pasta.
  • Add cottage cheese mixture and gently mix until combined.
  • Spray a 9 by 13-inch glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Add the pasta to the dish, and top with remaining cheeses.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
