Ingredients

How to make it

  • Prepare rice per package instructions, using stock/broth instead of water.
  • Saute onion in medium sauce pan until just beginning to get opaque
  • Add mushrooms and garlic and continue to cook until mushrooms are just done.
  • When rice is done, add to mushrooms and onions and carefully stir to combine. If rice seems slightly sticky, just add a few T of water and stir.
  • Add thyme and balsamic and stir one last time until combined.

Think I'll add a few chopped kalamata olives to this but otherwise fantastic. Sorry but I love to tweak. Tried to give you a five but I've reached my rating limit for the day. You did a nice blog on the new GR and it did need a fix or two but Kris and the gang took out some good features and haven't fixed the basic bugs. RJ

I will have to make this for my friends and I, because the gf won't eat rice... something about being psychologically scarred by a Puerto Rican grandmother who made it with every meal..? This sounds awesome and I'm keeping it bookmarked until I have an opportunity to make it. Believe me, you'll know when I do.
