Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat oven to 350º. Grease sides of 13x9x2 pan.
  • Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Gradually add flour, beat until well blended.
  • Press dough evenly into pan.
  • Bake 15-20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  • Meanwhile, combine toffee bits and corn syrup in medium saucepan. (this is where I cheated and used a bowl in microwave on 60% power and stir every so often - about 3 minutes, I believe)
  • Stir in 1/2 cup almonds and 1/2 cup coconut.
  • Spread the toffee mixture to within 1/4" of the crust. (be careful if using your fingers to remove off spoon (unlike me!) it's hotter than...)
  • Sprinkle remaining almonds and coconut over top.
  • Bake an additional 15 minutes or until bubbly.
  • Cool completely in pan on rack. Cut into bars.
  • Slowly back away....
