How to make it

  • Boil sugar wit vinegar, and 1 cup blueberries in a 1 -quart heavy saucepan, stirring, i min. remove from heat.
  • combine remaining blueberries with peach sliced in large bowl.
  • toss with hot blueberry syrup and black pepper, then add honey to taste
  • let stand for 30 minutes, tossing occasionally.

    Nice recipe. I would back off to 1 teaspoon pepper.
    Had the berries for a biscuit recipe. Had the peaches for a pie recipe. Wound up making this recipe to spoon over some breakfast biscuits.

    berries and balsamic and pepper is always a 5 to me! I like white balsamic sometimes, for just a slightly mellower note.

    I really like fruit with balsamic vinegar. Your recipe sounds tasty.

    The use of black pepper is a must too... it livens the flavor of fruit, gives it that extra something.
