Coney Island Hot Dog Sauce

Great sauce for steamed hot dogs! I don't remember where I found this recipe, but it really is worth trying!
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef (I use ground turkey breast) shopping list
- 2 medium onions, chopped shopping list
- 1/2 tbsp garlic powder shopping list
- 1 tbsp vinegar shopping list
- 2 tbsp chili powder shopping list
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes shopping list
- 1/8 tsp cumin shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp allspice shopping list
- 1 -2 dashes of Worcestershire shopping list
- 3 oz tomato paste shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
How to make it
- Brown meat & drain. You can add meat & onions to a food processor to mince if you like, I don't do this.
- Add all ingredients to a medium pan. Simmer for about 2 hours. (I simmer less than 2 hours, it's up you!!)
- Than's it! Enjoy on a steamed hotdog & bun, add chopped onions & mustard...Yum!

Made this tonight for a hot dog night. :) I did just toss everything in the slow cooker for about 2 hours, taking the lid off at half way through. Because of using the slow cooker, I only used 1/2 the water, and it was a great consistency. I also ...more
