How to make it

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F/175 degrees C/
  • 2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil and add pasta and cook until done and drain.
  • 3. In a 9 x 13 baking dish, put in macaroni.
  • 4. In a separate pan melt the butter, add the onion and the flour and stir until all flour is mixed in.
  • 5. Then add the milk, cheddar cheese (or whatever cheese you prefer).
  • 6. Salt and pepper to taste and stir.
  • 7. When all cheese has been blended in then pour over the macaroni and stir.
  • 8. Then top the macaroni with the panko crumbs and also a little parmesan cheese to taste.
  • 9. Place uncovered into oven and bake for about 45 minutes and golden brown.

    Doesn't taste overly cheesy although it has a goodly amount of cheese in there. Has a nice creamy quality. Doubled the recipe without trouble. I'm a pansy. I cut the pepper flakes by 75%.
