Macaroni & Cheese

- 2 cups uncooked dried elbow macaroni shopping list
- 1/4 cup of butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour shopping list
- 2 cups milk shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard shopping list
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (to taste) shopping list
- 1/2 cup onion, finely diced shopping list
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded shopping list
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- Topping shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1 cup panko crumbs shopping list
- 1/2 tablespoon parsley shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F/175 degrees C/
- 2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil and add pasta and cook until done and drain.
- 3. In a 9 x 13 baking dish, put in macaroni.
- 4. In a separate pan melt the butter, add the onion and the flour and stir until all flour is mixed in.
- 5. Then add the milk, cheddar cheese (or whatever cheese you prefer).
- 6. Salt and pepper to taste and stir.
- 7. When all cheese has been blended in then pour over the macaroni and stir.
- 8. Then top the macaroni with the panko crumbs and also a little parmesan cheese to taste.
- 9. Place uncovered into oven and bake for about 45 minutes and golden brown.

Doesn't taste overly cheesy although it has a goodly amount of cheese in there. Has a nice creamy quality. Doubled the recipe without trouble. I'm a pansy. I cut the pepper flakes by 75%.
