Salt & Pepper Shrimp

- 1/3 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined shopping list
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch shopping list
- 2 tablespoons peanut oil shopping list
- 1 teaspoon Penzey's Szechuan salt & pepper spice blend shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes shopping list
How to make it
- Toss the peeled and deveined shrimp with the cornstarch and set aside. See Photo
- Heat 1 tablespoon of peanut oil in a wok or heavy skillet over high heat. Add shrimp and stir-fry until shrimp is pink but not quite done See Photo. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to wok. Heat until just before the smoking point; add the garlic, red pepper flakes and salt & pepper blend and stir-fry for 30 seconds or until you just start to smell the garlic...you don't want the garlic to turn brown or it will get bitter. See Photo
- Add the shrimp back to the wok and toss with the spices for 30 seconds.
- Serve with steamed rice.

I love salt and pepper shrimp... so I'm glad you didn't find the squid. This looks fabulous... and it's saved. Awesome addition, Witchy!

This was fantastic! Mine didn't come out as coated as yours, I think cus my shrimp was too wet, but the flavor was all there. And SO easy! :) This, along with Jalapeno Chicken are about the only two things I get out if I go to an Asian Buffet....w...more
