How to make it

  • Brown ground beef with onions, worchestershire sauce, and steak seasoning.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook until onions are translucent, about 10 minutes.
  • Drain and set aside.
  • In a separate pot, melt 3 tablespoons of butter.
  • Whisk in the flour and mustard and keep it moving for about five minutes.
  • Make sure it's free of lumps.
  • Stir in 3 cups of the milk, red pepper, liquid smoke, and paprika.
  • Simmer for ten minutes.
  • Stir in the cheese, and add the last cup of milk as necessary.
  • Continue to cook until sauce is smooth & creamy.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Combine with beef mixture, add crumbled bacon and keep warm.
  • Toast burger buns.
  • Ladle mixture over bread and serve.
