Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix the spices together and slowly add the applesauce and glue. Stir until well blended. The dough should be smooth. Divide into 4 pieces and roll between waxpaper for easier handling. Cut the dough with cookie cutters into the shape desired. Use a straw to make a hole to thread the ribbon through later. Place the decorations on a wire rack and let dry at room temperature for several days. You will need to turn the ornaments over. Add the ribbon when the ornaments are dry to use as a hanger--creating a loop and knotting.

I remember doing this when I was growing up as a child. We would make holes in some and tie a red ribbon through it and hang all over the house. I loved the way the holidays smell. Can't wait to make these for my house. Boy does this bring back great memories. Thanks!
