Chow Down Cheeseburger

- 1/2 lb lean ground beef (90/10 sirloin) shopping list
- Montreal steak seasoning, to taste (I used about 1 1/2 tsp) shopping list shopping list
- 1 tsp worcestershire sauce, divided shopping list shopping list
- 1/2 tsp liquid smoke (I used Hickory flavored) shopping list shopping list
- water, enough to cover the bottom of the skillet you're using shopping list shopping list
- 2 slices pepper jack cheese shopping list
- 2 whole grain buns, toasted shopping list
- 6 leaves of Artisan lettuce (or greens of your choice) shopping list
- 4 slices beefsteak tomato (or something like it) shopping list
- Horseradish Dipping Sauce shopping list
How to make it
- In a mixing bowl combine meat, seasoning, and 1/2 tsp Worcestershire. Mix well. Heat skillet with water, remaining Worcestershire and liquid smoke over medium-high. Meanwhile, form patties. Once skillet is hot, place patties in and cover. Cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until burgers reach desired done-ness. During last minute add a slice of cheese to each patty, replace top and allow cheese to melt. Spread buns w/horseradish sauce on each side, then add patty and top with veggies. Serve w/sweet potato fries & additional Horseradish Dipping Sauce.
