How to make it

  • Remove any innards if in chicken
  • Remove the skin from the chicken
  • Pat chicken dry
  • Mix all the sauce ingredients
  • Place chicken in the pot ( I placed breast side down )
  • Pour on the sauce over the chicken
  • Cook high for 4 hours or fork tender
  • Or cook low 8 hours or fork tender
  • Remove from the pot, serve gravy on the side
  • My Note: thicken up gravy with flour if desired

    frankieanne ate it and said...
    I knew I wanted to make this the minute I saw it posted because of the sauce ingredients. This was really very good. I cooked mine on low for 8 hours and came home to dinner after work. One of the legs fell off as I was taking it out of the pot so I put it to the side in the picture to show off the deep color the meat got from the sauce. Made a little chicken french dip for my dinner, too! There was still a bit of grease in the sauce even though I took off the skin, but I'm going to put it in the refrigerator overnight and then take it off tomorrow so I'll have a less greasy broth for future sandwiches. Added a couple of pictures! Thanks for the great post.

    Poor little chicken...
    First you gutted it...skinned it.
    Made it cry and then patted it dry.
    Was decent enough to lay it a breast at rest.
    Sounds like a mighty fine sweet chicken to me.
