Orange Sherbet Recipe

Ingredients

1 can crushed pineapple, undrained (15 1/2 oz)

1 bottle orange soft drink chilled (2-liter)

1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)

Garnish: Orange rind strips

Directions

Stir together the frist 3 ingredients, and pour mixture into freezer container of a 5 quart electric freezer.

Freeze according to manufacturers inst.

Pack freezer with additional ice and rock salt and let stand for one hour before serving.

For Peach Sherbet: Substitute frozen peaches for crushed pineapple and peach soft drink for orange soda.

For Strawberry sherbet: Substitute 1 (10oz) package frozen sliced strawberries for crushed pineapple and strawbery soft drink for orange soft drink.

This was fantatic. We made it a while back and forgot to tell ya. I invited the neighbors over and they just had to have the recipe. I don't do big dinners much so we like to have home made ice cream and stuff like that. We are planning on doing the peaches next time.

I made this Sunday night for my family -- a big hit! It's very refreshing and soooooo easy to make. You have to try this. I have a Cuisinart Electric Ice Cream Maker so I reduced the recipe by about half -- it was perfect.
