How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 425
  • Mix softened cream cheese, salsa verde, lime juice, chili powder, garlic, scallions, shredded cheese together. Add shredded chicken and thoroughly mix together
  • Heat tortillas in a damp paper towel in microwave for 20 seconds to soften and help prevent cracking
  • Put 3 Tbs chicken mixture into bottom third of each tortillas and roll up
  • Place each tortilla seam side down on a foiled lined baking sheet or Silpat lined baking sheet
  • Brush each taquito with vegetable oil, sprinkle with a tiny bit of kosher salt and bake for 15-20 minutes or until crisp.
  • Cool for 5 minutes. They will be steaming hot. Serve with guacamole and/or sour cream

    Yum!! These have a lot of flavor and are super easy to make! I froze half and am pretty sure they will reheat very well. Added a review in Frankieanne's IMI link below :)

    I really liked these. I cut this recipe in half except for the scallions and I used chipotle chili powder. I skipped the cream cheese because I didn't want the extra calories. I had to steam the tortillas for nearly a minute before they were hot enough to roll without splitting - and one did anyway. I used toothpicks to keep them from rolling apart. They came out very crispy! I baked mine for 20 minutes and I wish I had checked them at 15 but they were good anyway. I added a couple of pictures and a thread in IMI 6/7/14
