How to make it

  • Heat butter and oil in a skillet over medium high heat and saute onions until softened
  • Add the balsamic vinegar and continue to cook until liquids are almost evaporated and onions are very soft and dark colored
  • salt and pepper to taste

    I'm feeling a bit puny tonight with strep and laryngitis and nothing sounded good to me but this so I made it but threw some sliced mushrooms in the pan, also. It's absolutely delicious and very easy to make! There's a delicious pungent sweetness and the balsamic vinegar really lends some nice subtle flavors.
