How to make it

  • Combine sugar, butter, syrup boil and reduce heat.
  • Add potatoes and keep basting cook covered on low heat only turning one time,after 15 minutes.
  • Then remove cover keep basting with cover off for at least another 15 mintes
  • I have only used fresh potatoes. I think the can would make it to juicy and would not get so thick. I suggest you cook or bake the potatoes and forget using can.

    The exact recipe I needed, and delicious! I substituted, using coconut oil & maple extract to make it dairy-free. It was my 1st time to bring candied sweet potatoes... with a lot of pressure to make them as good as Mom's. Keeping this recipe, for ever!
