Slow Cooker Bourbon Chicken Recipe

How to make it

  • Season chicken liberally with the dry rub.
  • Mix the BBQ sauce, chicken broth and bourbon together
  • Place chicken in the crock pot
  • Pour over the sauce
  • Slow cook about 4 hours or chicken is cooked through,, turning chicken over in the sauce 1/2 way during cooking
  • Remove chicken from the sauce and place in a serving bowl or platter
  • Turn cooker to high and thicken sauce with gravy flour, cornstarch slurry if desired
  • Pour sauce over chicken or serve on the side
  • Note: I found out the sauce is more than needed for the recipe - it's delicious and it would go great over rice or noodles too.

    Midge, I made this over the weekend using 6lbs of b/s breast. I made some BBQ sauce as I didnt have enough. I also added chopped garlic. This was really good. Thank you for a great recipe. More in IMI Midglets Slow Cooker Bourbon Chicken#
