Ingredients
  • 2 lbs stew meat trimmed and cut into bite size pieces. (can use lamb also)
  • 1 head of green cabbage, rough chopped, but not too small (maybe two heads depending on the size)
  • 2 lbs potato's sliced about an inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon
  • paprika
  • cayenne pepper
  • ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive Oil
  • Yogurt Sauce
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 3-6 garlic cloves, depending on size and taste
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt

Directions
  1. Trim stew meat
  2. line bottom of crock pot with cleaned outside leaves of cabbage (save a few leaves for top layer
  3. cover bottom of pot with a layer of stew meat, sprinkle with spice mixture
  4. then layer potato's on meat followed by the cabbage
  5. Repeat layering in the same order, final layer should be cabbage.
  6. Drizzle a small amount of water (about 1/2 cup) over top
  7. Drizzle a few tablespoons of olive oil over the top
  8. Cover with remaining cabbage leaves
  9. Cook on low for 6 - 8 hours until meat is tender
  10. Yogurt Sauce
  11. Mix all ingredients together, chill
  12. Serve sauce on the side

I love Turkish food -- IMHO, one of the great (underrated) world cuisines. Since I also adore my crockpot, I can't wait to fix this yummy-sounding dish! Looks pretty idiot-proof, too, and that earns points from me. . . Thanks!
