Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix together milk, eggs and pancake mix.
  • Heat shortening or oil in a skillet until hot (375 degrees).
  • If using regular bread slice, cut each slice in half diagonally. This is not necessary if you use French bread slices.
  • Dip each slice into the batter and place in hot skillet.
  • Sauté bread slices until golden brown and puffy, about 2 minutes per side.
  • Watch closely, as they can burn easily.
  • Drain well on paper toweling.
  • Serve with powdered sugar sprinkled on top, or with syrup or jam.
