Sticky Toffee Pudding

- 1/2 C dark brown sugar shopping list
- 3/4 C Self-rising flour shopping list
- 1/2 C whole milk shopping list
- 1 large egg shopping list
- 1 t vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/4 C (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted shopping list
- 8 ozs pitted dates, roughly chopped shopping list
- Sauce: shopping list
- 1 C dark brown sugar shopping list
- 2 T unsalted butter, broken into small pieces shopping list
- 2 C boiling water shopping list
How to make it
- Cake:
- In large bowl, combine the 1/2 C Dark Brown Sugar and flour.
- Pour the milk in a larger measuring cup.
- Beat in egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
- Pour this mixture over the sugar and flour, stirring with a wooden spoon or spatula until just combined.
- Fold in chopped dates.
- Pour batter in 1 1/2 qt sprayed baking dish. (Don't be concerned that it doesn't look very full - will rise as it bakes.)
- Sprinkle 1 C Dk, Brown Sugar over the batter and dot with the pieces of butter.
- Pour the boiling water over top of the entire dish.
- Bake 45 minutes at 375* or until top of cake is springy and spongy when touched.
- Remove from oven to cool slightly.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- ENJOY!
