The King Brisket Recipe
Especially wonderful for Christmas and special celebrations. SO EASY, SO SUCCULENT. A TRUE RULER OF THE TABLE! Always requests for the recipe.

Ingredients
  • 4 pound quality brisket
  • 6 whole cloves of garlic
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 1 cup good red wine
  • Salt - pepper to taste (light on the salt)
  • 1 oven baking bag

Directions
  1. Make slits in brisket
  2. Place whole garlic in the slits
  3. Salt and pepper to taste
  4. Place brisket in oven baking bag
  5. Combine ketchup and wine
  6. Pour over brisket in the bag
  7. Close bag
  8. Refrigerate overnight
  9. Carefully pierce top of bag with several holes
  10. Carefully place bag with brisket in roasting pan
  11. Bake at 325 degrees for 3 hours
  12. Remove and cool a few minutes
  13. Carefully open bag and remove brisket
  14. When cooled down, slice cross grain
  15. Arrange on platter OR
  16. Place whole brisket on platter, and slice later
  17. May pour some of the fabulous "drippings" on brisket, or place in separate bowl with ladle near by
  18. OH IS THIS EVER GOOD!!
  19. NOTE: I bake this on the 2nd shelf up from bottom of oven

This sounds great, will try that ("again" lol, when the weather cools off here) Hope that's soon, but I wouldn't make any major bets on that.


I agree... this does sound good.....I love it when i can just throw it in the oven in a bag and forget about it for a while...


We love brisket and i have never tried it this way but i will now .. thanks sounds like it will just melt in my mouth.megan
