Ingredients

How to make it

  • Make slits in brisket
  • Place whole garlic in the slits
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Place brisket in oven baking bag
  • Combine ketchup and wine
  • Pour over brisket in the bag
  • Close bag
  • Refrigerate overnight
  • Carefully pierce top of bag with several holes
  • Carefully place bag with brisket in roasting pan
  • Bake at 325 degrees for 3 hours
  • Remove and cool a few minutes
  • Carefully open bag and remove brisket
  • When cooled down, slice cross grain
  • Arrange on platter OR
  • Place whole brisket on platter, and slice later
  • May pour some of the fabulous "drippings" on brisket, or place in separate bowl with ladle near by
  • OH IS THIS EVER GOOD!!
  • NOTE: I bake this on the 2nd shelf up from bottom of oven

    we love brisket and i have never tried it this way but i will now .. thanks sounds like it will just melt in my mouth.megan

    I agree... this does sound good.....I love it when i can just throw it in the oven in a bag and forget about it for a while...

    This sounds great, will try that ("again" lol, when the weather cools off here) Hope that's soon, but I wouldn't make any major bets on that.
