Okra Stew Recipe

Ingredients

One 16 oz frozen crawfish tails ( available everywhere ) defrosted

2lbs Okra ( fresh or frozen or for the faint of heart canned0 Chop okra into little slices

1 ounce of olive oil

1.2 cup sausage of choice CHOPPED

1 large onion

1 stalk celery

2 tablespoopns garlic

2 tomatoes chopped ( fresh)

1 tablespoon Basil

1 tablespoon black or red pepper

1 teaspoon salt I use sea salt

1/2 cup Green Bell pepper (chopped)

Directions

Cook okra down in oliive oil until the slime decreases

Add sausage and cook for 15 minutes stirring occasionaly

Now add seasonings to the mix

cook till onions start to gloss.

Add crawfish tails, salt.pepper and basil and cook for another 10 minutes

Add tomatoes and cook till all ingredients are done

I serve this with my Oven baked pork chops and creamy mashed potatoes with garlic

Have a glass of wine on me

I've been looking for a recipe to use one of those bags of crawfish. My mom makes something w/ it w/ yellow rice and it has a lot of processed foods in it (I can say it is yummy, but no veggies and not very healthy). I can't wait to try this! I'm going to the store to buy a bag of crawfish!
