How to make it

  • Cut off the top of the garlic so that it is flat.
  • Lay the garlic stem down in a baking dish.
  • Saturate with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Bake for one hour at 350°.
  • Serve warm on a platter or on individual butter dishes for guests to eat.
  • **Use as a condiment and spread on hot crusty bread instead of butter. **
  • **Optional: For Dipping Sauce for Bread: Squeeze out 1 roasted garlic bulb , smoosh and put on a plate with olive oil, red pepper flakes a pinch of basil and a sprig of rosemary for garnish.** :)
