Awesome Dip -I served this at a party recently and it disappeared in no time. Nice and spicy and cheesy. Great dip for veggies, chips or crackers. The recipe called for cooking in a slow cooker and that is what I did and then reheated in microwave ... More

I poured out all the bacon grease and sauteed in the same pan using olive oil and butter. I also cooked everything but the cheese for 20 minutes in the crockpot, then added the cheese to cook for an hour (the shrimp weren't quite done after an hour in my bitty crockpot.)

Wow,this sounds scrumptious !!! We have about 20 lbs of fresh shrimp in our freezer as I write this !

20 lbs. of shrimp! You could make an awful lot of this dip with that much shrimp. But you must try it then - it is delicious. Enjoy!

Heck, we were so good I made this 3 times in a row! I was surprised to find that the amounts of spices were exactly right, too, not too hot or too mild. Of course after we polished off the last of the third batch, our halos were a bit tarnished, but it was worth it!

Sweetwords: So happy to hear that you were extremely "good" - you deserved to have it 3 times. Glad you ennjoyed it - I must make it again myself.
