How to make it

  • SEASON steaks. Cook steaks in large nonstick skillet to desired doneness, turning once. Remove from skillet and keep warm.
  • HEAT butter in pan drippings. Add mushrooms and cook until tender and liquid evaporates. Stir in flour and cook 1 min. Gradually stir in broth. Cook and stir until mixture boils and thickens. Serve mushroom gravy with steaks.

Ok so it's unanimous, I shelved my recipe for yours. A lot cleaner taste, quicker and easier. I used shitakes since that is a favorite. Served it on the side since I wasn't sure how it would go over and that gravy bowl went around the table like Danica Patricks car on a Nascar track. It accompanied a huge london broil. Had steak left over, ran out of gravy. Steak, oven roasted potatoes all were christened with the gravy. The family and a neighbor who stopped by nailed every last bit on anything that would soak it up. Got to make a larger batch next time. Thanks! This is a winner! WOW is an understatement.

This sounds like a winner and tomorrow night is steak night. It's a lot easier than what I do. Gonna give this one a try, thanks!
