Uncomplicated Cherry Cake

- 1 package yellow cake mix (pudding-type) shopping list
- oil and eggs as called for on cake mix package shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling shopping list
- powdered sugar, sifted shopping list
How to make it
- Prepare cake mix according to package directions, using oil or butter and eggs, and reducing the water to 1/2 cup.
- Spread batter into a greased and floured 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Spoon cherry pie filling evenly over the batter, then swirl into the batter just enough to give a marbled effect.
- Bake cake at 350° for 55 to 60 minutes, until cake bounces back when lightly touched.
- Cool and sprinkle with sifted powdered sugar.
