How to make it

  • For Bread Machine:
  • Setting:Basic or French cycle, normal or med. crust.
  • Add ingredients in order specified by your manufacturer. Olives and rosemary can be added at the beep, or 5 min. before the end of the last kneading cycle.
  • Bread Machine/Oven Combo:
  • Setting: dough.
  • Add ingredients in order specified by your manufacturer. Olives and rosemary can be added at the beep, or 5 min. before the end of the last kneading cycle.
  • When dough cycle complete, remove bread from machine, punch down, shape into smooth log. Cut the log into three equal sections, keeping one end "just" connected. Braid the three ropes. Put on baking stone or into bread pan. Cover with a towel and let rise again, till doubled, about 30-45 min.
  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Bake for 20-25 min. Cool and serve.

    Okay so your SIL (aka, me) has no patience for making dough of any kind - but I may have to try this one. Heck, I think Trevor would love it (he loves black olives).

    I love olive bread. I used to get it at the farmer's market, but somehow the loaf never made it home. Now I can make it at home so!
