So you like traditional pizza right? Well have you tried replacing tomato sauce with barbecue sauce? That is what this recipe is all about and it really does a wonderful job of making pizza a sweeter dish. Enjoy and i'd love to hear your feedback.

I am a huge fan of this style pizza. I had a streak of making it at least once a week for a month or more. I would like to suggest two additions that are great as well.
1. Add a 1/2 to 1 tsp of red pepper flakes to the first step.
2. Roasted Corn is a great compliment to these toppings. For simple roasted corn - heat a non-stick skillet over high heat until very hot and add a cup of frozen corn. Cook, stirring, until slightly browned. If the pan is hot enough - you won't get wet mushy corn - but instead perfectly roasted corn kernels!

The roasted corn above sounds really good. I think instead of red onion, I will try scallions next time. I think they will complement the chicken and barbecue well.

I put a tablespoon or so or garlic chili sauce in and left left the brown sugar out. It turned out awesome!

Hey Kris -
I added some photos of my suggested alteration. Like i said it is one of my favorites recipes. In fact, it is what I am having for dinner tonight!

Those look amazing! Thanks for adding them. I forgot to tell you, but I tried both of your alterations and they really put this dish over the top for me.
Did you think of those changes on your own? Or are they adapted from another dish?

I made this pizza tonight. It was easy enough. The sauce and chicken was tasty. For some reason, after 18 minutes, the cheese still was not melted all the way through. I turned on the broiler to help. Perhaps I should have grated the cheese finer.
We liked the taste, but think we might opt for a cheddar-mozzarella blend next time.
Thanks for the recipe.

Oh my Gosh, this has to be my favorite Pizza combo ever!!!! YUM!!!!

I have to agree with dsboutique, BBQ Pizza is my favorite. And you have to make it from scratch 'cause the frozen kind never gives this one just. Thanks for gouda idea, I will have to try it next time I make it.

This was delicious. I used smoked mozzarella instead and it was fantastic but I will use the gouda next time. We have homemade pizza every sunday and this was very welcomed at the table! Thanks

My friend made this the other night with homemade wholewheat dough and it was AMAZING. Definitely recommend that remix.

Making this tonight, but I'm using balsamic glazed red onions on top, and cheddar/jack mix along with Sweet Baby Ray's chipotle honey bbq sauce.
