Add a little zing to Holiday fare, traditional sweet potatoes with bourbon, brown sugar and cinnamon. Scrumptious! *smile*

Ingredients
  • * 4 cups sliced cooked sweet potatoes
  • * 1/4 lb butter
  • * 1 cup brown sugar
  • * 1/4 cup bourbon
  • * 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions
  1. Cook your sweet potatoes first (either slice and quick cook in a microwave or bake whole till slightly done in oven).
  2. In medium heavy sauce pan combine butter, brown sugar, bourbon, and cinnamon.
  3. Cook until the brown sugar dissolves.
  4. Place cooked sliced sweet potatoes in buttered baking dish.
  5. Pour syrup over the potatoes and bake for 20 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven.
  6. Serve with your Main Dish.

Oh yeah pink, I do this with Jack Daniels every year and only once a year, makes them (and me) keep coming back for more. Nice post. Bourbon and whiskey is so underrated as a flavor component.

Oh dear, I'm afraid my arthritic wrist might just give way to the weight of the Bourbon bottle LOL
