Ingredients

How to make it

  • in a mixer bowl: put flour,sugar, butter, 1 egg yolk, cinnamon, salt.
  • beat at low speed for 2-3 mins.
  • divide dough in half. Press each half onto an ungreased cookie sheet (you will have 2 sheets)
  • in a small bowl beat 1 egg white until foamy. spread over 1 sheet of dough. repeat with 2nd egg white spread on second sheet
  • sprinkle with nuts.. press down lightly
  • Bake at 350' for 12-15 mins or until very lightly brown
  • immediately cut into 2'' squares
  • you will have 1 extra egg yolk save it , I have another cookie recipe that will use it.

    And oh yeah,my recipe that started my quest was Land O lakes too.I also added vanilla and only one egg.In case ya only have one egg in fridge ;)

    I just made these last night.After browsing web at Jan Hagel recipes,they vary a bit.I used 1/2 white & 1/2 brown sugar.My advice is to score before baking,(I used a 15X10 jelly roll pan)Once out of oven cut through,but let cool in pan.I had to figure that out myself.But they are very pretty and catch people's eye!

    I don't get it... do i stack the 2 doughs/eggwhite on top of each other to make one thick block. or am I suppposed to have 2 thin lots at the end?
