Ingredients
  • Dough:
  • 250 grams cream cheese
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • Filling:
  • ½ cup raisins
  • 1 cup walnuts,chopped
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg beaten
  • icing sugar

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 365 F
  2. Beat cream cheese, butter, salt,sugar and vanilla till light and smooth. Fold in flour till dough forms. Chill few hours. Roll out dough to ½ inch thick and cut with a round biscuit cutter. Combine all filling ingredients and mix well. Place a little amount of filling on each circle of dough and fold the circle into two. Brush edges with beaten egg to seal.
  3. Bake for 20 minutes till golden brown.Coll before dusting with icing sugar

Perfection, dear. And for those who don't like raisins, why not a dried sweetened cranberry instead? Love the dough.

Your recipes is indeed so like mine. That is fun - my grandmother's family was from Germany and they were heavenly bakers. I love that our diverse cultures find such similarities here.
