  • 2 cans diced tomatoes with garlic and oregano
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 2 onions ~ diced
  • 4 cloves garlic ~ minced
  • 3 bay leaves

  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 stick of butter

Directions
  1. over medium low heat sweat onions and garlic in a small amount of the butter
  2. add tomatoes breaking up the whole ones with your fingers (I leave them nice and chunky)
  3. add wine and bay leaves
  4. simmer at least an hour over medium heat, stirring often.
  5. When your sauce has thickened to desired consistency add sugar, salt, rosemary, marjoram and the rest of your butter, cook 5 more minutes.
  6. Dont forget to find the bay leaves and yank them out.
  7. Serve with spaghetti, rigatoni, add ground beef-anything you want, this sauce is super versatile.
