I also make ths recipe but i add a can of drained crushed pineapple by hand at the end of the whipping process. my family asks for it all the time.

I made this and you were right. Its very light. Much better then the sugary ones in the can. It felt like I could eat it all day. I also took a few strawberries cut them into small cubes and mashed them inside. It was very good. (^-^)

This is perfection! Not that hard to make, just be sure to get the roux right (#3) and do beat for the full ten minutes (#11). Very light, creamy, fluffy -- just right on the yellow cake I baked for my grown-up son's birthday :)
