CRAB A LA KING Recipe
Creamy crab a la king... great! So easy... Enjoy!

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup REAL butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups whole milk... I like to add part half and half
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Worchestershire
  • 2 cans (small) sliced black olives
  • 4 oz drained pimentos, drained and diced
  • 1 pound fresh crab picked over use the flaked not lump cheaper.
  • Hot buttered white rice or toast points

Directions
  1. In a sauce pan, melt butter and stir in flour and salt to make paste
  2. Slowly add milk .. stirring
  3. When thick and smooth add worcestershire
  4. Fold in Olives, pimentos and crab
  5. Heat through.
  6. Do not over cook
  7. Serve over hot rice or buttered toast points or english muffin...
  8. I garnish with fresh parsley

Oh this sounds so good! Crab has got to be my absolute favorite in any form. Living where I do, I never get fresh crab. :(

Wow. Great. My mom used to make "chicken a la King". But I think it was more like "a la Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup." Nothing like this. Thanks.
