How to make it

  • Bring honey and water to boil, boiling for approx. 3 - 5 minutes. Ensure to skim any foam off surface (this is residual beeswax).
  • Add ginger and lemon and boil for additional 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stand until just warm, strain out solids with fine seive.
  • Transfer liquid to clean dry container and add whiskey.
  • Store in cool, dark place for 4 weeks.
  • Pour liquid through coffee filters into final bottles and age for 2 more weeks before serving.

    I recently made some ginger liqueur using vodka instead of whiskey and it was divine. I only aged it for a couple of weeks because I could not wait!.

    Hey nice< I make a Polish variety of this with a very strong alcohol called sprytus and honey and lemon /water. Its amazing and you dont have to wait so long which helps! thanks.

    Wonderful! Delicious! I imagine its good on ice or in a cup of tea. There's only one problem ... can't ... wait ... six ... weeks. Glug, glug.
