Ingredients

How to make it

  • In medium saucepan, heat butter over low heat until it turns golden-amber (do not burn)
  • Immediately pour cream into butter to stop cooking
  • Pour into mixing bowl
  • Blend in brown sugar, salt, corn syrup and vanilla
  • Beat in eggs *by hand* until well blended (I use whisk)
  • Stir in pecans
  • Pour into pastry lined 9 inch pie plate (crimp edges of pastry as high as possible)
  • Cover edges with strips of aluminum foil
  • Bake 30 minutes at 375 degrees
  • Remove foil strips and continue baking until filling is set and pastry is golden (about 15 minutes
  • Cool at least 2 hours before slicing
  • Delicious, and a little different from a regular pecan pie
