Ingredients

1 cup shortening

2 cups sugar

4 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon orange flavoring

3 cups sifted flour

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup buttermilk

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs and beat well.

Add vanilla and orange flavorings.

Sift dry ingredients together 3 times.

Add dry ingredients to cream mixture alternately with buttermilk.

Spoon into greased loaf pan and bake 300 degrees for about 60 minutes.
