Frosted Texas Sheetcake Recipe

Ingredients

1 Cup butter

1 C water

1/4 C cocoa

2 Cups Sugar

2 Cups flour

1/8 tsp salt

2 eggs

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup sour cream

1 tsp vanilla

Frosting

1/2 cup butter

1/4 cup cocoa

1/4 + 2 T milk

4 1/2 cups SIFTED powdered sugar

1/2 tsp real vanilla

Directions

Combine butter, water and cocoa in a saucepan over medium heat; heat until butter melts. Add sugar, flour, salt, eggs, soda, sour cream and vanilla, mix well. Pour into a greased 15 x 10 x 1 bar pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Spread frosting over hot cake:

Frosting:

For frosting, combine butter, coca and milk in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Add remaining ingredients and beat well with electric mixer. Spread over HOT sheet cake.. Sprinkle with pecans or coconut if desired.
