How to make it

  • Sqeeze limes into blender
  • combine all other ingredients EXCEPT the Contreau into the blender
  • half fill blender with ice and blend - if you completely fill the blender with ice at first it will be difficult get a smooth consistency.
  • fill the rest of the blender with ice and blend until smooth. do this with the top off and use a spoon to push any ice chunks down.
  • if you like salted rims, rub lime juice around the rim of the glass and then dip the glass in margarita salt.
  • pour the margarita in the glasses and float the Contreau on top.

    You can find Everclear at any liquor store, 190 proof. Alot of the restraunts here in Austin have everclear in their ritas. Enjoy!

    This one sounds like it packs a good punch! I love frozen margaritas, and I have never tried adding Everclear...I will have to pace myself with these! Thanks for sharing (and these could come in handy when I want to go to bed and guests want to stay up - these should knock them out pretty quickly!!).

    *thump* that's the sound of me passing out. Just kidding, in my drinking days everclear was one of my favorites, I think in moderation this would be very tasty. I'm ordering these beautiful margarita glasses that have been hand blown in Mexico, so I'm saving this recipe for use with them. Thanks for the post.
