Old popular recipe. Beef patties topped with carrots, potatoes onions, wrapped in foil, topped with butter and baked for 1 hour. They are quite delicious.

- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 6 medium potatoes
- 6 carrots
- 3 medium onions
- 6- 12 inch squares of aluminum foil
- 1/2 stick butter
- Salt and pepper

Ingredients

2 pounds lean ground beef shopping list
6 medium potatoes shopping list
6 carrots shopping list
3 medium onions shopping list
6- 12 inch squares of aluminum foil shopping list
1/2 stick butter shopping list
salt and pepper shopping list

How to make it

Season 6 large beef patties with salt and pepper
Place on foil
On each pattie, place a layer of raw carrots, a layer of raw potatoes, and a layer of raw onions
Put a pat of butter on top
Seal foil and place on cookie sheet or in pan
Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour
You may season everything as you like

Nancy, I have never cooked these on the grill, but I don't know why you couldn't. I think putting the packets on the grill, leaving a little opening in the foil on the top would be fine. However, I would use heavy duty aluminum foil.
