Ingredients
  • *Lasagna Ingredients*
  • 1 lb ground Sausage (Jimmy Dean will do)
  • 1 lb ground Beef
  • 1 lb ground Pork
  • 1 lg White Onion
  • 1 cup Carrots
  • 4 stalks Celery
  • 4 Garlic cloves - pressed
  • 1 sm can Contadina Tomato Paste
  • 1 cube Chicken Boullion
  • 1 cube Beef Boullion
  • 1 can Chicken Broth
  • 1/2 cup Red Wine
  • Olive Oil
  • 2 cups Cheese - shredded Parmigiano & Mozzarella mix
  • 2 cups Cheese - shredded Mozzarella
  • Pre-cooked Lasagna Pasta
  • cooking spray
  • *Bechamelle Sauce*
  • 1.5 sticks Butter
  • 1 qt Milk
  • Wondra flour
  • salt/pepper to taste

Directions
  1. If pre-cooked lasagna noodles are used, no further preparation is necessary for the pasta.
  2. *Bechamelle Sauce*
  3. in a sauce pan, melt butter completely.
  4. add flour until all the butter has been absorbed (approx 6 Tbs).
  5. add milk SLOWLY until a smooth sauce is formed (important - not too thick).
  6. keep stiring all the time. set aside for later.
  7. *Meat Sauce*
  8. chop onion, garlic, celery and carrots. in a large pan, saute with olive oil until soft and golden.
  9. add meats and saute until well cooked
  10. add red wine and reduce.
  11. add tomato paste - mix well.
  12. add chicken broth and boullion cubes. bring to a boil. if not enough liquid, add water and cover.
  13. simmer atleast ONE hour until the broth has reduced. set aside.
  14. *Construct the Lasagna*
  15. spray large baking dish with cooking spray ("Pam").
  16. (A) layer pasta to cover the bottom
  17. (B) add a layer of meat sauce
  18. (C) add a layer of Bechamelle
  19. (D) add a layer of cheese(s)
  20. repeat layers, finishing with cheese & Bechamelle on top
  21. cover with foil and bake for 1hr at 375 deg.
  22. remove foil and brown the top layer under the broiler.
  23. let rest for atleast 10min. serve!

I made this last night for my grand-daughter and all I can say is O U T S T A N D I N G !!! I wasn't to sure about the pork sausage at first but it was great. My grand-daughter went back for seconds and by the time she was done she had this glazed look in her eyes but she was happy. Wonderful recipe, I gave it a 5.


This sound outstandingly delicious...I can't wait to try it. I love good lasagna and Tuscany and Bechamel Sauce, so my tummy is growling just thinking of it all. Thank you and your wonderful father-in-law for such a grand recipe. I'll let you know when I make it. =)
