Adapt this recipe for your next party by serving it from a chafing dish with cocktail picks and omitting the noodles. It's from Heinz 57 and has been one of our favorites for over 20 years.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup seasoned dry breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 2 tbs. shortening
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 can (28-oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup Heinz 57 Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Hot buttered noodles

Directions
  1. Combine the first 5 ingredience.
  2. Shape into 20 meatballs using a rounded tablespoon.
  3. Brown well in shortening. Drain excess fat.
  4. Sprinkle flour over meatballs; stir gently to coat meatballs.
  5. Combine tomatoes, Heinz 57 Sauce, sugar and salt. Pour over meatballs.
  6. Simmer, uncovered for 25 minutes or until sauce is desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
