    Don't use egg noodles at least don't put them in the slow cooker towards the end, that was disgusting! a solid mass of goo. I learned something new though. If you do want to use egg noodles in replace of mashed potatoes, just boil them separate on the stove, and pour your barbecue mixture on top of them. I used just frozen peas, meat, gravy and Texas sweet barbecue sauce this time- yes the noodles too, don't do that part. Fresh onions chopped on top is really good too. There are soo many ways to make this, I can never remember the original way.

    I'm glad you all liked this! and Josh It is great that you were able to turn this into a vegetarian dinner, last week when I made this again, I added frozen organic peas at the end, left out the cilantro and beans, so there are many ways to work this.

    I don't know if it is possible, but I think I am going to attempt a vegetarian version of this. Sounds like a hearty winter meal.

    It worked! Just used Yves BBQ skewers and took them off the skewer. It's ALL about the BBQ sauce!
